Clos Lentiscus is a legendary biodynamic farm located in the Garraf mountain range (Penedès, Catalonia), right next to the Mediterranean Sea. The wine is made from 100% local, structured Xarel·lo grapes. This DOMAINE (farm) wine is one of the main farmers’ wines: it is produced naturally, fermented spontaneously and aged in old oak barrels. The wine is bottled unfiltered and without any added sulfites.
The taste? The wine is dry, robust, and has a creamy texture. It is dominated by ripe yellow fruits (pears, quinces), almonds, and subtle notes of Mediterranean herbs. Aging in barrels gives it depth and elegance, but it retains its freshness. The aftertaste is characteristic of the Garafo region, with a hint of sea salt (salty) and minerality.
How to serve? Serve slightly chilled (around 10–12 °C). This is a serious gastronomic wine, perfectly suited to replace white Burgundy. Pair with fatty fish (e.g., cod), roasted poultry (with cream sauce) or aged hard cheeses.
