“Domaine de la Pinte is one of the most important biodynamic (Demeter) farms in the Jura region. The name “SAV’OR” is a play on words, meaning “Savagnin” (grape) and “Or” (French for “gold”). This is an orange wine: 100% Savagnin grapes that have been macerated (stored) with their skins for about two weeks to obtain a golden color, aroma and structure. The wine is made naturally, unfiltered and with a minimum of sulfites.
Taste? The wine is dry, structured and very aromatic. It is dominated by ripe yellow fruits (quinces, apricots), notes of spices (e.g. turmeric) and nuts. Thanks to the contact with the skins, it has a pleasant texture (light tannins reminiscent of tea) and excellent, refreshing acidity. The aftertaste is long and mineral.
How to serve? Serve chilled (around 10-12°C) to enhance its aromas and texture. This is a great gastronomic wine. Pair with hard cheeses (especially Comté), cured meats or poultry dishes.”
