Italicus is the rebirth of the legendary Italian liqueur Rosolio (literally “sun dew”). This elegant drink, created by bar legend Giuseppe Gallo, is made from hand-picked Calabrian bergamot citrus fruits and botanicals from the Mediterranean region (chamomile, roses, lavender). Italicus is light, floral, yet complex – perfect for a luxurious aperitif.
The taste? The drink is smooth, harmonious, and refreshing. It is dominated by the taste of fresh bergamot (a mixture of citrus and green lemon), complemented by the aromas of white flowers and subtle spices. The sweetness is perfectly balanced, allowing you to taste the bitterness and complexity of the botanicals.
How to serve? Serve well chilled in a small glass or, even better, mixed in a classic Italicus Spritz: pour a little Italicus, add Prosecco and a dash of sparkling water, and garnish with an olive or grapefruit peel.
