Red Centro is a new and unexpected experiment by Mirco Mariotti, created in sunny Emilia-Romagna. Although Mariotti is famous for its sparkling wines, this is a still red wine made from 100% Syrah grapes grown organically on the unique sandy soils of the Bosco Eliceo coast. It is a natural, full-bodied wine that is playful yet serious.
The taste? The wine is dry, juicy, and incredibly fruity. It is dominated by dark berries – wild strawberries, cherries, blackberries, and notes of elderberry. It is a wine that perfectly combines fruity sweetness with natural acidity, making it a “glou-glou” style wine, despite the full body of Syrah.
How to serve? Serve slightly chilled (around 16 °C). This is an excellent wine to accompany food. It is ideal with roasts, grilled meats, pasta with rich sauces, or mature cheeses.
