Orange

This orange wine comes from a magical place – the tiny volcanic island of Pantelleria off the coast of Sicily. Abbazia San Giorgio is a natural wine farm that grows grapes organically in harsh conditions between winds and rocks. This wine is made from 100% aromatic Zibibbo (Muscat) grapes. It gets its wonderful color and character from being left with the grape skins for several days, unfiltered and bottled without added sulfites.

The taste? The aroma is a real explosion! It is dominated by ripe apricots, peaches, orange blossoms, and Mediterranean herbs (rosemary). However, the taste is completely dry. Due to contact with the skins, the wine has a pleasant texture (felt in the mouth) and a light character. The aftertaste reveals a wonderful volcanic minerality and saltiness – like a sea breeze.

How to serve? Serve chilled (around 10–12 °C) to reveal both the aromas and texture. This is an excellent gastronomic wine. Its character makes it a perfect match for spiced fish, roasted poultry, or even spicier Asian dishes.
