Description

Alice Bouvot from L’Octavin is one of France’s most renowned natural wine producers. Although she is based in the Jura region, she uses Muscat grapes purchased from friends in Alsace for this wine. This is an orange wine, which means that the aromatic Muscat grapes were fermented with all their skins and stems (maceration) for about 10 days. This gives the wine not only its color but also its incredible structure. Like all of Alice’s wines, this one is made without any added sulfites.

The taste? The aroma just explodes from the glass! It is dominated by orange blossom, rose, lychee, and exotic fruits. However, the taste is completely dry, refreshing, and has a strong character. Contact with the skins gives it a pleasant texture (light tannins reminiscent of tea) and excellent minerality and refreshing acidity. It’s like a bouquet of flowers with character.

How to serve? Serve chilled (around 10-12°C). Due to its intense aroma and structure, it is an excellent gastronomic wine. It pairs perfectly with spicier dishes (e.g., Thai or Indian cuisine), duck, or aged, aromatic cheeses.
