Les Gruches

Les Gruches is an exceptional, top-class white wine from Domaine Bobinet, located in the Loire Valley, in the Saumur region. It is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes grown in very old (50-85 years old) vineyards on clay and limestone soil. The wine is produced naturally: fermented and aged for 24 months in old oak barrels, deep in limestone caves.
The taste? The wine is dry, rich, and incredibly complex. It is not just a fruity wine—it is structured and gastronomic. It is dominated by notes of ripe yellow fruit (pears, quinces) and roasted nuts (hazelnuts), complemented by a sensation of wet stone (minerality) and saltiness. The finish is long, powerful, and leaves a creamy texture.
How to serve? Serve slightly chilled (around 10–12 °C) to allow its aromas to unfold. Due to its richness, it is an excellent food wine. Pair with roasted poultry, veal (e.g., blanquette de veau), fatty fish, or aged goat cheese.
