“Mersel Lebnani Abyad (English: Lebanese White) is a natural wine from the Bekaa and Qannboubine valleys in Lebanon. It is made from a blend of two grape varieties: the local Merwah (some vines are up to 150 years old!) and the classic Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is produced organically, without any additives, unfiltered and unrefined. It gets its wonderful color and texture from being kept with the grape skins for several weeks during fermentation.
The taste? The wine is refreshing, lively, and has a pleasant texture (you can feel the soft tannins from the skins). It is dominated by notes of ripe peaches, lychees, and stone fruits (apricots), complemented by hints of flowers and honey. The finish is dry, with excellent acidity and a long, pleasant aftertaste.
How to serve? Serve chilled (around 10 °C) in a wine glass. Due to its character, it is an excellent gastronomic wine. It goes perfectly with Lebanese appetizers (mezze), such as hummus and baba ganoush, as well as roasted chicken or spicier Asian dishes.”
