„La Capitaine“

La Capitaine is an exceptional red wine from the biodynamic (Demeter) Domaine de la Pinte, located in the Jura region of France. This wine comes from a single vineyard called La Capitaine, where several grape varieties grow together on red marl soil. It is a “wild blend” (complantation) wine, consisting mainly of Pinot Noir and Poulsard, sometimes with a little Trousseau. The wine is aged in large oak barrels (foudres).
Taste? The wine is dry, elegant and has a great structure. It is dominated by small red berries (raspberries, cherries), complemented by subtle notes of violet, nutmeg and earthy (forest floor). It is not a heavy wine – it is refreshing, with soft tannins and a long, mineral aftertaste.
How to serve? Serve slightly chilled (around 14-16°C). This is an excellent gastronomic wine. Pair with poultry, grilled meats, charcuterie or Comté cheese.
