Jean Pierre Robinot – L’opera des vins

Jean-Pierre Robinot is a cult natural wine producer from Loire in France, known for his domain LES VIGNES DE L’ANGEVIN producing incredible wines like Bistrologie, Le Regard, L’iris, Lumière de Silex, L’As des Années Folles, Charme and more. Aging his wines in a traditional Limestone cellar with never any sulphur added, Jean-Pierre Robinot is an incredible character and his wonderful daughter Juliette Robinot may take over the vineyards one day. What’s interesting about Jean-Pierre Robinot, besides his excellent Chenin Blanc and Pineau d’Aunis is his life in natural wine began long before he started making it, having opened one of the first natural wine bars in Paris as well as a wine publication.

This sparkling, 100% Chenin Blanc wine, although still young, already promises a lot. Its aroma is subtle and light, with a salty quality and herbal notes. On the palate, it shows richness, with green and buttery characteristics, and hints of future oxidative notes. It’s truly well-made. Enjoy it now, but with time it will develop into an even more interesting and complex wine.
