Partida Creus – HY21

Partida Creus is a winery located in Catalonia, Spain that was established in 2001 by Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerona. They are recognized as pioneers of natural wine and are committed to reviving old vines of indigenous grape varieties. Sustainability is a top priority for them, and they achieve this by avoiding the use of pesticides and hand harvesting their grapes with the help of animals. They practice minimal intervention in the cellar, and fermentation takes place in steel tanks. Partida Creus is a testament to the power of natural wine, regional grape varieties, and the beauty of sustainable viticulture.

“Hydromiel” is a special type of mead made from organic El Perelló honey, sourced from the MURIA farm, known for its rich beekeeping traditions. This farm, owned by Rafael Muria, is located in the town of Perelló in southern Tarragona, just 1.5 hours by car from Partida Creus. For many years, Rafael has brought his bees to these lands, and since 2002, he has settled them in the fields of Bonasn each year. As a gesture of gratitude for their collaboration, he generously shares some honey annually. They share a close and long-standing relationship with the Muria family, and are confident in their ethical and environmentally responsible practices. This is why they chose to use this exceptional honey in the production of their “Hydromiel.”
