Groovin’ High

Groovin’ High is a natural wine from the Roca Viva project, originating from a remote area in Andalusia, between the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. The wine is born from 100-year-old vineyards located at an extreme altitude of 1400 meters, on blue shale rocks. It is a rare “field blend” wine, where 90% of the red Jaén Tinto grapes are fermented together with 10% of the white Jaén Blanco and Vigiriega grapes. The name reflects the 40s Bebop jazz movement and the quest to find the perfect “rhythm” (Groove) in wine.
Taste? The wine is dry, elegant and incredibly mineral. Due to the extreme altitude and shale soil, it is dominated not by heavy fruitiness, but by fresh red berries (cranberries, cherries), wild herbs and spices. The white grapes give it additional freshness and aroma. It is a delicate, flowing and very energetic wine.
How to serve? Serve it slightly chilled (around 14-16 °C). It is a perfect gastronomic wine. Pair it with grilled poultry, pork skewers or mature sheep’s cheeses.
