About winemakers

“Vinyes Singulars is a unique winery located in the Penedès region of Catalonia, with roots that date back to the early 1400s. Currently, Ignasi Segui is the skilled winemaker who crafts a carefully curated selection of natural wines, with a strong focus on tradition, terroir, and environmental respect.

The winery spans over twenty hectares of vineyards, exclusively cultivating the traditional grape varieties of the region, such as xarel lo, macabeu, parellada, monstrell, sumol, white grenache, and malvasia de Stiges. These vines are quite old, with an average age of 60 years, and they represent the viticultural heritage of the region.

Ignasi takes a hands-on approach, not only with the vines but also with the preservation of the soil and the environment. The vinification process at Vinyes Singulars is a dance without any added inputs, and the wines proudly bear the badge of being certified organic and free from added sulphites.

The wines themselves, aptly named “”Singular Vineyards”” in Catalan, are a true reflection of the terroir and the meticulous artistry of Ignasi. These well-balanced whites boast beautiful bitters and controlled acidity, delivering a kick with every sip. They are not just wines; they are sharp, cutting-edge creations.”

Description

Sweet wine made from late harvest grapes (known as “passito” in Italy) that aged for at least 5-6 years, without any additional sugar. This results in a super complex sweet wine.
