Savoia Americano Rosso is a premium Italian Wine Aperitif (Americano), which is halfway between a traditional vermouth and a bitter Amaro liqueur. It is made in Turin (Piedmont), and its uniqueness is that it is based not just on ordinary wine, but on Sicilian Marsala wine. The drink is fortified with alcohol and enriched with 20 botanicals. Its deep red color is obtained naturally using carrots and elderberries, not artificial dyes.
Taste? The drink is dry, complex and pleasantly bitter. It is dominated by notes of citrus fruits (orange peel) and spices (cinnamon, vanilla, rhubarb). The Marsala wine base gives it richness and a kind of “rustic” warmth, and the bitterness is elegant and inviting.
