Abbazia san Giorgio – Rosso dei Sesi 2021

Battista Belvisi, farmer and winemaker. In 2015, together with Beppe Fontana, traveling gourmet and chef, they formed what was then a tiny winery called Abbazia San Giorgio. Three and a half hectares of vineyards situated on the outskirts of the village of Khamma, in the south-eastern part of the island.

Intriguing nose right upon first pour with reductive smokiness, bright red cherry fruit, moist soil, violets and some meaty spiciness – almost a touch of bacon. Medium bodied with a beautiful mouthwatering acidity and very smooth tannin structure. Really good intensity to the flavors that mirrors the nose very well. Long and acid-driven finish.
